Best Sig Sauer P365 Light: Chasing The Compatibility Of Sig Rail
What lights fit Sig P365 and Sig P365XL? While both of these pistols are some of the most popular choices when it comes to carry guns on the market, finding compatible pistol lights for them can be difficult. No wonder you are asking this question. The P365XL and P365 both sport a small proprietary SIG accessory rail that drastically limits the light & laser options. I previously carried a P365 and currently a P365XL and dealt with this issue firsthand for years. That is why I can hand out a lot of tips and help you with your decision.
I picked 5 best lights I had previously mounted & carried on the P365 & P365XL and ranked them based on the following criteria:
- Compatibility
- The light output
- Price
- Build quality
With those four factors, along with other creature comforts in mind, here are my top 5 pistol light choices for the Sig Sauer P365 and Sig Sauer P365XL.
5. Streamlight TLR-6 HL
Starting off at our #5 position is the Streamlight TLR-6HL pistol light. A freshly updated model of the original Streamlight TLR-6, the HL model offers an additional 200 lumens and 2250 candela over the original. Giving the Streamlight TLR-6 HL 300 lumens and 4250 candela. While the MSRP of the light is high, the street price usually runs about half of that. The lower light output and plastic body of the light places the TLR-6 at our number 5 spot.
Specs of Streamlight TLR-6 HL
- Lumen - 300
- Candela - 4250
- Runtime - 20 minutes
- Battery - 1 proprietary Streamlight SL-B2 rechargeable battery

4. Surefire XSC Weaponlight
Taking our #4 spot is the Surefire XSC Weaponlight. Surefire, renowned for its duty-grade weapon-mounted lights, has brought out the XSC Weaponlight as an option for the subcompact pistol light market. With a full metal, incredibly durable build quality you wouldn’t expect the XSC Weaponlight only comes in with 350 lumens and 2000 candela. This on top of the higher cost of the light puts it at the number 4 spot.
Specs Of Surefire XSC Weaponlight
- Lumen - 350
- Candela - 2000
- Runtime - 30 minutes
- Battery - Proprietary QD Rechargeable LiPo battery
- Weight - 1.7 oz

3. Streamlight TLR-8 Sub
Coming in the third place spot on the list for P365/P365XL pistol lights is the TLR-8 Sub. This is the visible laser version of the popular TLR-7 Sub pistol light. So on top of having 500 lumens and 5000 candela, the TLR-8 Sub comes equipped with a red or green visible laser depending on the model. The body of the light is ruggedly built, machined out of aluminum, and anodized. The paddle switches on the back of the light are ambidextrous. The biggest hit to the TLR-8 Sub is the price jump due to the laser module.
Specs Of Streamlight TLR-8 Sub

- Battery - 1 CR123A lithium battery
- Weight - 2.77 oz

- Higher lumen and candela output for a compact light
- Comes equipped with a visible laser in the light.
- Longer run time with the light with a single disposable CR123A battery that can be removed while the light is mounted.
Cons:
- The heaviest pistol light on the list
- Higher price tag than the other lights available
2. SIG FOXTROT365XR
Our 2nd place pick for the list is the SIG FOXTROT365XR. A newer version of the original SIG FOXTROT365, the XR model features a whopping 550 lumens and 17,000 candela. This makes it the brightest light option available for P365XL/P365 pistols. For using the light, the activation switch of the FOXTROT365XR is unique. The switch is placed on the grip of the pistol, letting users not have to move their index finger to activate it. The body of the FOXTROT365XR is a polymer clamshell design that uses two small bolts to clamp to the sig rail. While this makes for a lighter light option it also takes away from the durability of the light. Price-wise the FOXTROT365XR comes in at an affordable $149.99 MSRP with the street price going a little bit lower than that. So with a great light output and decent price that puts the SIG FOXTROT365XR at our #2 spot.
Specs Of SIG FOXTROT365XR
- Lumen - 550
- Candela - 17,000
- Runtime - 1 hour
- Battery - 1 15270 rechargeable battery or 1 CR2
- Weight – 1.41 oz
- MSRP - $149.99
Pros:
- Highest light output of all the lights
- Dual fuel capable uses a 15720 rechargeable battery or a CR2 battery.
- Features an instant activation tact switch that can be engaged without changing your grip
Cons:
- CR2 batteries cost
- Polymer clamshell design that isn’t as durable as other options
1. Streamlight TLR-7 Sub
Here we are! Drumroll please - the first place and best light for the P365XL/P365 is the Streamlight TLR-7 Sub. My personal go-to for both of these wonderful concealed carry handguns. The light offers a great 500 lumen and 5000 candela output with a 1.5-hour runtime with a single CR123A lithium battery. The body of the light is made of aircraft-grade aluminum that is precision machined and anodized to make for a durable build quality. Pricewise the TLR-7 Sub is very affordable for a full metal light, usually running around half of the MSRP price of $253.66. The only downside to it is the slightly higher weight of it being a full metal construction.
Specs Of Streamlight TLR-7 Sub
- Lumen - 500
- Candela - 5000
- Runtime - 1.5 hours
- Battery - 1 CR123A lithium battery
- Weight - 2.39 oz
- MSRP - $253.66
Pros:
- Higher lumen and candela output for a compact light
- Longer run time with the light with a single disposable CR123A battery that can be removed while the light is mounted.
- Durable precision-machined aircraft aluminum build
Cons:
- Slightly heavier than other light options

Final Thoughts
All five light options we have talked about above for the P365XL/P365 excel in certain aspects more than others. So find what suits you the best in the list, whether you need a visible laser option, the brightest light, the most rugged light, or the most affordable. Make sure the light suits your needs first.
Whatever light from the list you choose one thing is certain. You would need a Sig P365 holster with light in the very near future. If you want to concealed carry properly and safely, you are lucky to be on the website of Falco Holsters so go ahead and pick your P365 holster with light along the way.
